Dr. Elizabeth Harvill’s dream of becoming a veterinarian began while she was still in high school and working at a local veterinary clinic in her hometown of Homewood, AL. After graduation, she attended the University of Alabama for two years before transferring to Auburn University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology in 2009, and entered the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, from which she graduated in 2013.
While attending Auburn, she worked at the Southeastern Raptor Rehabilitation Center and spent a summer as a bird keeper at the Birmingham Zoo. These experiences piqued her interest in exotic animal medicine, including avian, small mammal, and wildlife species. Dr. Harvill also has special interests in internal medicine, oncology, and palliative and hospice care.
Dr. Harvill is a member of a number of esteemed associations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, and the Madison County Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Harvill and her husband, Shelton Patterson, enjoy spending time outdoors with their 2 sons, Gray & Judson, and their 4-legged family Gertie, Rosie, & HipHop. She also enjoys traveling, live music, and spending time with family and friends.
